Outside my window…Is some very tall grass. Where in the Sam Hill is my lawn man?
I am thinking… That God deserves my praise no matter what my circumstances are.
I am thankful for… My husband who works very hard to provide for us – and, let’s me hang out with our children and indulge in Junior Mints and chips and queso.
From the kitchen… I cooking with organic beef I purchased from an itty bitty – and I do mean itty bitty – country meat store. A big thank you to my friend, Cindy Beall, for leading me to that little gem.
I am reading… 1 Samuel over and over. It’s the main text for my message this Sunday at Eagles Way Church.
I am hoping… I don’t leave my fly unzipped on stage when I speak on Sunday. And, that I don’t throw up or do anything else equally disgusting.
I am hearing… My big, yellow lab snore. I love my big, yellow lab.
Around the house… Is clean. For the moment. Oh, only for the moment.
One of my favorite things… Is spending time with my BSers. That’s my Bible Study gals. Since we’ve pretty much become experts familiar with the book of Galatians, we are rewarding ourselves this week some fellaship at a new local favorite where I will embarrass myself inhaling the Blessed Banana French Toast.
Long live breakfast foods and Mexican food.
Feel free to play along. You can answer one, all or none.
Also, long live Chocolate!!!
Happy Tuesday friend!
“Outside my window” – Reminded me of a quote from a great man…
4) Never let her cut grass. Well, that’s what he told Kris when he asked for my hand in marriage.
Now on my pray list for Dusty …Lord please remind her to zip her fly…I understand…I sang one whole service on stage thinking I had lost weight when it was only that I forgot to zip my pants…emmmmbarrrrassssing….Can’t wait to here you talk!! And a nugget…I don’t think you are suppose to feel all relaxed in the pulpit…it is a most sacred place to me and always will be…
Praying for you friend you are going to do great this weekend. Tim just sent me this devo its good on speaking http://www.rbc.org/utmost/index.php Love you girl!!!
1 Samuel is awesome…shows a picture of absolute despair and absolute victory and sacrifice. When the doctor told me that I would never be able to carry a child to term due to some pre-cancerous stuff I had when I was younger and the surgery to correct it, I was devastated. Of course I found myself in 1 Samuel. Through a crazy chain of events, the Lord defied the doctors and gave me Logan. Logan Samuel. He is a precious young man who has spent the majority of his life divided between the house of the Lord and the baseball field. I know you’ll do a fantastic job! One more thought on Logan…when we have prayed for something so hard that we appear delirious and or drunk and the Lord grants our request, how many of us would be willing to give it back to the Lord to the degree that Hannah did? Just a thought…
Tall grass growing outside your widow makes me think of a quote my mother uses ~ the grass is always greener over the septic tank ~ or a favorite of mine ~ the grass is always greener where the dog poops the most. I know, my mind doesn’t work like most folks, Dusty. Imagine what I would see in the inkblots.
