Me: John Henry, take that ball out of the living room. If you hit the television, you will be in some serious trouble.
Anna: And, get a spankin’.
Me: You’re not the parent, Anna.
Anna: I was just sayin’ it for you!
Me: I don’t need any help, thank you.
I wonder how often we think God needs our help with things. Ya know. Just in case He forgets what His Word says or something like that.
I’m not saying we don’t pray. We need that. He digs that. I’m just saying that some things really aren’t about us. Some things should just go into the God box instead of the Me Box. And, most things are beyond our control anyway.
And, that’s okay.
He’s God.
I’m not.
I don’t even play the role of the Holy Spirit well. Believe me, I’ve tried.
Let Him do His thing. He’s pur-tee good at it.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
I’ve choked a time or twenty on my filling in for the Holy Spirit, too.
Still learnin’…..
It’s amazing how much better He is at being God than me…. I should know, i’ve tried enough….
Today while I am running around, i’ll just BE STILL….and KNOW that HE is GOD….
Thanks Dusty, love you!
Dusty, that was sooo cute, funny with Ms Anna Marie!! My oldest GRANDdaugter, used to try to do Mommy & Daddy’s job of discipline too, it was hilarious! She woulld tell JEffery to get in the corner, when they were here visiting, and count to 10, i laugh to this day!
About the Holy SPirit’s job, I tried again to do His job Sunday, with a certain someone, telling them they should have gone to Church!? Well, it back fired on me! I had to go through all of it, “forgive me Lord, then ask them to forgive me for trying to do the Holy SPirit’s job” on and on. haha, do we ever learn?? I goofed bigtime! But I hope i get stronger in the understanding of it all, just pray! Simple and sweet! We need God! ilu
Well, the verdict is in. YOU are the 3rd confirmation on the “Be still and KNOW that I am God! Psalms 46:10. Guess that’s my new role in my life and I KNOW that he is in control because He is the one that is soooo good at taking care of us and knows the future.
Brenda, that’s the verse God spoke to me over & over again during these last 2 difficult years. He still whispers it to me now. I feel your hurt and I’m praying for you and the kids. God is sooooooo good!!!!!
I loved this one, just perfect. It resounded in me today, no more worrying about what is out of our control, just let God be God. Thank you!!!
